To have trust is to believe in the other, in their word, their commitment, their truthfulness, their sincerity, their support, their strength, it is to believe that they want the best for us.

Without it, we would not be able to appreciate the divine message and let it guide us. It is our trust in the word of the Messenger (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) and in the integrity of those who reported it to us that allows us to act upon it and abide by it. Otherwise, how can we explain the attachment to so many precepts, except that we know that they are the truth?

Trust also goes hand in hand with the qualities we recognize in others or that we believe – sometimes wrongly – to find in them. This is why our absolute trust must only go to God, because He is distinguished by the most beautiful qualities and describes Himself by the attributes of perfection.

In a world that calls for self-reliance and reliance on material means, it is more important than ever for Muslims to reconnect and attach themselves to the Eternal if they wish to avoid the evils of our time, both on a collective and individual scale.
